Narrows Strut Busters - Home Page

Welcome to Narrows Strut Busters - A Washington Chapter of the NWTF

The "Narrows Strut Busters" is an active chapter of the National Wild Turkey Federation (NWTF) originally founded in the Gig Harbor area of Washington State, but currently serving members in the West Puget Sound area from the Tacoma Narrows to the Hood Canal .

The NWTF is the nation's most progressive non-profit (501c) conservation organization dedicated to the preservation of all wildlife and their habitat with our main focus being the wild turkey. The NWTF has been in existence for over thirty years with over 2000 chapters and 500,000 regular members in the United States, Canada, and 11 other countries. Thanks to partnerships with federal and state agencies, private companies, and the efforts of our dedicated volunteer members, we have helped increase wild turkey population to over 6 million nationwide today (back from near extinction in the 1930's).

In Washington State where wild turkeys had never existed, we now have great populations of Rio Grande, Merriam, and Eastern wild turkeys. In addition to our conservation efforts, the NWTF runs several educational and outreach programs to promote fun, safe and responsible use of our great outdoors for youth (JAKES), women (WITO), and the disabled (Wheelin' Sportsmen). The NWTF also provides college scholarships to conservation minded youths at the local level with a chance for the winners to win state and national level scholarships.

The members of our chapter are avid, ethical, and experienced hunters who firmly believe in the ideals and programs of the NWTF, and are passionate about preserving our wildlife, preserving the hunting heritage, and sharing the opportunities we enjoy with our families, friends, and fellow citizens. We encourage you to visit the various areas of our site to learn more about our chapter, our programs, about wild turkeys and the NWTF. We encourage you to use our provided contacts if all your questions are not answered, if you want to join us in our endeavors, or if you would like to support us by becoming one of our sponsors, event volunteers, or by attending our annual superfund banquet.

We would like to extend a special thanks to premier web designer Lee Braaten  of the Tacoma Chapter for his efforts, expertise, and talent which has made this website a reality, and furthermore we wholeheartedly encourage you to use his professional services.
